What t wear with denim vest?

for the record im a guy lol, i have a blue and a black denim vest and i like the rocker look. What should i wear with the vests? i normally wear a graphic tee shirt/ band shirt and blue or black jeans or black cargo shorts. skate shoes or converse what goes with denim vests in both colors?
