How much sun does Dicentra or Bleeding Heart need? and for how long they bloom till die to the ground?

Mine is in the shade in the morning and direct sun for the afternoon, it loves it, the soil is well drained and protected from the wind. as the "arms" of flowers die off, cut them off before they go to seed and the plant will keep flowering, when they go to seed they think their job is done. It will die off completely over the autumn months but don't dig it up, you don't need to water it, i just leave mine. once the plant has died back take the dead foliage off and it will come back bigger and better in the spring. You might need to support the main stems of the plant as they can be quite heavy and snap, that needs to be done as its growing in the spring. Good luck.
