Girls, what do you think of this look?

I'm new here, so tell me if this isn't in the right category? I'm around 6 feet and skinny, but my body is toned and I have a fair amount of muscle on me. Since it's getting so hot here, I've recently been wearing this: a slim-fit athletic t-shirt, with no words on it; basketball shorts; and either sandals or basketball shoes. I think I look fine, and I'll probably keep wearing it anyway most days because it's comfortable, but when I'm going to a party or a get together with new people, I want to look presentable or my best. I've been reading that cargo shorts, as long as the pockets aren't excessive or huge, are better looking than basketball shorts? But do you personally like the athletic look I've described on a guy as long as he has the athletic body to match? What about the sandals or basketball shoes, which do you prefer? Thanks :)
